Iranian Pastor Tortured
Christian Web News - The wife of an Iranian evangelical pastor who was suddenly arrested and imprisoned , claims that he has visible marks of torture after she visited him.

According to Farsi Christian News Network, Pastor Wilson Issavi of the Assyrian Evangelical Church in Kermanshah is living in dreadful conditions and appears to have been tortured while in prison, according to his wife, Medline Nazanin, who had discussed the matter with reporters and human rights activists in Iran

FCNN reported on Thursday that Nazanin also said intelligence officials told her that her husband is “awaiting his trial and his death sentence.” Issavi is being accused of converting Muslims to Christianity and baptizing them.

On February 2, while visiting a friend's house in the central city of Isfahan, Issavi was arrested by security agents. The family of the pastor were given no information about his location for weeks. His wife was able to visit him recently, seeing him for the first time since his arrest. Issavi's wife said he is in an unmarked prison.

In January, authorities has raided his home and shut down his church, but because of his fear of officials cracking down on the church members even more, he asked that FCNN not report the news. An FCNN news correspondent said the pastor tried to respect the law even though it is oppressive towards religious minorities.

I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the wicked one. I write to you, little children, because you have known the Father.   14.  I have written to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.
