Mark 7:8 in the New International Version says “You have let go of the commandments of God and are holding on to the traditions of men.”
We all know that we are living in the last days. The dark one is walking the land seeking those that he might devour. Spiritual warfare is on the rise, with eternal consequences hanging in the balance. As in any good army, the enemy has special operatives known as spirits. We have all heard of the spirit of Jezebel, the Leviathan spirit, the spirit of Judas, and the anti-Christ spirit. I would like to introduce to you one of the most elusive and evil spirit of them all; I call it “THE SPIRIT OF MAN”.
Mark 7:8 in the New International Version says “You have let go of the commandments of God and are holding on to the traditions of men.” We all know that the traditions of man make goods word of non-affect. What makes the spirit of man so elusive is the fact that it is the way that we as men have been taught to be. We were raised to be emotionless, prideful, and indifferent beings. What a load of hogwash. When we take a look at the man we are to fashion our lives after we can see how a real man is supposed to act. Jesus was not emotionless. He cried at the death of a friend, over his land of Israel, he showed anger at the merchants in the temple. He even showed fear and worry over the event of his death. Jesus was not a prideful man. He lowered himself and washed the feet of his friends. The one thing we know about Jesus is that he was in no way indifferent. Jesus cares about everything and everyone. He cared enough to face the brutality and humility of Calvary so that we could one day enter his gates with thanksgiving in our hearts.
I would like to close with a short prayer: Father, I come before you today with repentance in my heart. I ask forgiveness for apathy. I come against this spirit of man that has plagued the men of the body of Christ. I break the back of this demonic spirit and claim freedom in the name of Jesus. I pray for discernment for the men so that they might realize that this is not the way they were raised but that this is an attack straight from the pits of hell intended to keep us from walking in our destiny. I pray blessings and favor over every person that reads this article. We will never fail to give you the praise and honor you deserve in the name of Jesus I pray. Amen
