Christian Web News - April 17th marked the 13th annual "Day of Silence" to protest anti-homosexual bullying in schools. But, a new YouTube video shows that all too often, the shoe is on the other foot.
Day of Silence is supposed to be a campaign against name calling, bullying, and harassment. But Capitol Resource Institute and another pro-family organization have been receiving harassing emails and phone calls from Day of Silance supporters contioning words like "bigot," "disgusting," "evil spawn," and much more.
CRI and pro-family organizations called for a walkout on the Day of Silence because students should be free to support traditional marriage and relationships, without their peers seeing them as bigots and teachers should focus on academic subjects, not on changing students' minds about sexual issues.
"If this is the kind of atmosphere we get just for asking kids to stay home, in an email, can you imagine what it is like for kids refusing to stay silent?" said Karen England, Executive Director of Capitol Resource Institute.
"We believe that respectful dialogue is important when people discuss disagreements on social issues. Unfortunately, we are not seeing that respect extended to us by Day of Silence supporters," she said
"Many people who support traditional values are called right wing extremists, and Homeland Security says it is concerned about us. Maybe Homeland Security should be more concerned about assessing the threats we are receiving than about us as a threat to others," England said.
Watch the video and see for yourself what Day of Silence supporters are saying.
Christian Web News - Jesus has a way of getting right to the point, doesn't He? There was certainly no mincing of words, He came right out and said, "why are you fearful?" and then went on to say, "O you of little faith." You don't have to read between the lines to see what He was saying, they had little faith.
Christian Web News - Galatians 3:13-14. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree''), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
