Christian Web News - I think Obama must be confused. Someone needs to tell him that he ran for office in the United States, not Israel. No one (except maybe a terrorist) would even dream of telling the American President what he can and cannot do in his own country. But, that’s what Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has to deal with.
If you frequent this site, you already know that we stand with Israel. God called the land His and the Jews His chosen people. The church didn’t replace them, God isn’t finished with them. That’s Bible, people. Furthermore, that tiny sliver of land no bigger than the state of New Jersey that we call Israel is not what God promised His people. The borders were laid down multiple times in the scriptures. Exodus 23:31 says “I will fix your boundary from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the River Euphrates…” And God never goes back on His promises. But, President Obama is determined to undermine the authority of the elected leader of Israel and divide God’s land for a people who didn’t even exist until the last century. In anticipation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Washington next month, the Obama administration has been briefing Congress on its position regarding establishing a Palestinian state, according to informed Israeli diplomatic sources. The sources said Obama's team fears Netanyahu may try to rally support in Congress against the president's policies for a peaceful democratic country that he does not run. Arriving at the conclusion that they must act first, The White House to act first by recapitulating Obama's positions regarding a Palestinian state and freezing Jewish construction in the “West Bank,” as it was originally called by the king of Jordan, to members of Congress. The White House is stressing that it holds Israel's security paramount but that Obama believes carving up the already barley defendable little country into smaller pieces for the establishment of a Palestinian state is crucial for Middle East peace. The diplomatic sources, who also spoke with a reporter from Israel's Haaretz newspaper, said Obama anticipates a possible clash with Netanyahu on several issues, particularly the freezing of Jewish construction in both the “West Bank” and eastern Jerusalem. The “West Bank” borders Jerusalem and is within rocket range of Tel Aviv and Israel's international airport. The Palestinians hope to establish a state in Gaza, the “West Bank” and eastern Jerusalem, including the Old City and Temple Mount. WND reported earlier this week, that under intense American pressure and following a nearly unprecedented behind-the-scenes U.S. campaign, the Netanyahu government decided not to bulldoze Palestinians homes built illegally on Jewish-owned property in Jerusalem. The issue is critical since the 80 homes are located in Silwan, an eastern Jerusalem neighborhood close to the Temple Mount and Jerusalem's Old City that the Palestinians claim as a future capital. Jewish groups have been working to fortify the community's Jewish presence. Silwan is adjacent to the City of David, a massive just outside the Temple Mount that is constantly turning up Temple artifacts. Bet you can’t guess what will happen to that archeological dig if this Palestinian state actually happens. Like tens of thousands of other Arab housing projects throughout eastern Jerusalem, the Palestinian homes in Silwan were illegally constructed on property long ago purchased by Jews. The Israeli government ordered the structures' legal demolition. But during her visit in March, Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, strongly protested the planned bulldozing. "Clearly this kind of activity is unhelpful and not in keeping with the obligations entered into under the Road Map," she said. "It is an issue that we intend to raise with the government of Israel and the government at the municipal level in Jerusalem." Although the Road Map calls for Israel to freeze Jewish settlement expansion – funny how they call thriving cities “settlements” - in the “West Bank”, it does not bar Israel from dismantling illegally constructed Palestinian homes in Jerusalem. According to WND, since Clinton's visit, the U.S. has mounted an intensive campaign lobbying the Israeli government against tearing down the illegal Palestinian homes in Silwan. The campaign included letters from the Middle East section of the State Department addressed to various Jerusalem municipalities, with copies of the letters sent to the offices of Israel's prime minister and foreign minister. The letters called on Israel to allow the illegal Palestinian homes in Silwan to remain and stated any demolitions would “not foster an atmosphere of peace.” Also, in a follow-up visit, State Department officials made it clear to their Israeli counterparts that the U.S. opposes the Silwan bulldozing. Said one source in Netanyahu's administration, "This was very frustrating to us. Can you imagine if a foreign government came in and told a city office in the U.S. not to tear down a house that was illegally constructed on someone else's property?" While the Obama administration opposed the Palestinian house demolitions, informed Israeli officials said the Obama administration is carefully monitoring Jewish construction in eastern Jerusalem and has already protested to the highest levels of Israeli government about evidence of housing expansion in those areas. Now let me be very clear about this. All of Israel belongs to God and He has given it to the Jewish people. Creating a “Palestinian state” will NEVER bring peace. There might be peace for a brief period, but it will be a false peace that will end quickly, just as the Bible says. There will never be true peace in the land until Christ returns to set up His kingdom here on Earth. Now if you’re not a fan of the Bible, don’t worry. I’ve been traveling to Israel for ten years now and have studied its history most of my life. I don’t claim to be an expert on the subject, but I think I know a thing or two about it. In 1922, the League of Nations determined that it was time for the Jewish people to once again have a have a homeland. But, the Arabs living in the area did not like that idea at all. So, 77% of the land was given to the indigenous Arabs for the establishment of a PALESTINIAN STATE. Today, we call this land, Jordan. But even that wasn’t good enough for them, so in 1948, when the British finally left, the Arabs attacked Israel, hell-bent on destroying the Jewish people, and taking land that did not belong to them. Miraculously, Israel was not destroyed in the war. In 1967, Jordan, along with Egypt and Syria, as well as Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria, mounted an attack on Israel again, this time vowing to “drive the Jews into the Sea.” But Israel did more than just survive this time. Without the aid of the United States, Israel took back what belonged to her in just six days. Hence the name the Six-Day War. Now, 87 years after the creation of a Palestinian state, radical Arabs are demanding that they be given another state, even though the large majority of Arabs living in Israel have expressed that they would rather live as Israeli citizens than live as citizens of a country controlled by Hamas and the PLO. Please pray, not just for the peace of Jerusalem as the Bible says to (Psalm122:6), but for our own country. Pray that our President will not make the incalculable error of dividing God’s land, for God’s Word says “I will gather all the nations, and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land" (Joel 3:2).
