Christian Web News - ChinaAid is urging the international community to sign a petition to the Chinese Government for the release of prominent Christian human rights attorney, Gao Zhisheng.
Gao was last seen being hauled away by more than a dozen police officers on February 4, 2009. Together with the Gao family, ChinaAid has set up a petition for his release at www.freegao.com.
Mr. Gao's wife, Ms. Geng He, daughter, Geng Ge (16) and son, Gao Tianyu (5) escaped to the U.S. on March 11, 2009. They are deeply concerned about Gao. He was severely tortured for more than 50 days after officials kidnapped him in 2007, and was threatened with death if he exposed the details of his torture. Reports from inside China indicate he is now being brutally tortured.
The government's recent kidnapping of Gao is in response to his work defending human rights in China. ChinaAid president, Bob Fu, calls Gao's torture "the most severe persecution in China's modern history." Gao's family fears that Chinese authorities are furthered angered by their escape and are taking revenge on Gao.
Speak out on behalf of Gao Zhisheng by signing the petition at www.freegao.com
Christian Web News - Jesus has a way of getting right to the point, doesn't He? There was certainly no mincing of words, He came right out and said, "why are you fearful?" and then went on to say, "O you of little faith." You don't have to read between the lines to see what He was saying, they had little faith.
Christian Web News - Galatians 3:13-14. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree''), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
