Alistair Begg at the 2009 National Religious Broadcasters Convention
After Anne Graham Lotz spoke at the 2009 National Religious Broadcasters Convention  – NRB –  Pastor Alistair Begg of Parkside Church and the Truth for Life radio program also gave a powerful message on the dangers the church faces from within.

In Acts chapter four, we find Peter telling the religious authorities that salvation can be found in no one else besides Jesus Christ.  Unfortunately, much of the church today is abandoning this message. According to recent statistics, sixty-five percent of Americans believe that other religions can lead to eternal life and thirty-five percent of people who identify themselves as Christians do not believe the Bible is the Word of God. Truly, the greatest threat to the church is not on the outside, but on the inside.

Pastor Begg says pluralism makes Christianity less than useless. If you believe what you like about the Bible and reject what you don’t like, it’s not the Bible you believe in, it’s yourself.

So, what can save the church from religious relativism? Pastor Begg named three things

1. Come to God in confession. Let every person look inside their own heart and confess their sins to God.

2. We must have a significant conviction regarding the Gospel. We must be completely convinced that there is no other way that man can be saved. We must also not allow ourselves to be distracted by other things we are told we should be convicted about because the enemy will use any means necessary to divert the people of God away from the Gospel. Politics is an area where he does this. Of course, Christians should be involved in politics, but not to the extent that we neglect the Gospel.

The world would tell us that we need to be tolerant, but “there is a Devine intolerance in the Gospel.” Therefore, according to Pastor Begg, we must be intolerant in a phenomenally tolerant way. That means we recognize legal and social tolerance, but spiritually, we tolerate nothing.

3. We must have a heart of compassion.

After the thunderous applause and standing ovation that followed Pastor Begg’s message,  Christian jam- band, Salvador played to close out the general session for the 2009 National Religious Broadcasters Convention.

Living A Christ Life

Why Are You Fearful?

Why Are You Fearful?
Christian Web News - Jesus has a way of getting right to the point, doesn't He? There was certainly no mincing of words, He came right out and said, "why are you fearful?" and then went on to say, "O you of little faith." You don't have to read between the lines to see what He was saying, they had little faith.

Redeemed from the Curse Pt. 1
Christian Web News - Galatians 3:13-14.  Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree''), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
