Joe 3:1  For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, Joe 3:2  I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.  

We all know these scriptures. We are seeing this happen right now. Iran is very interested in wanting to annihilate Israel. Their president has made this very clear ever since he has been the president of Iran.  Even the European Union is trying to make Israel establish a new Muslim Arab state on historically Jewish lands. Hamas is consistently at odds with Israel.

Now there are over 100,000 students in Iran wanting to go to Israel to seek martyrdom. A demand of the Arab world is that the most important parts of Jerusalem - with the Temple Mount, Israel's holiest site, at the top of the list - be included in a Palestinian state. Israel is standing all by its self surrounded by everybody that wants and desires her destruction. When Israel started its offensive in Gaza, the Iranian president decided to boycott companies that were suspected of having ties with Israel and also called for all Arab countries that had any dealings with Israel to pull those businesses out. The Rabbis themselves are stunned over all the talk from their enemies, both within and without, who are speaking openly of abandoning the Temple Mount and part of the Jewish capitol.

The PLA president Mahmoud Abbas wants Israel to end its occupation of all territory captured in the six day war that occurred in the 1960’s. This means they would have to give up Judea and Samaria which is actually part of biblical Israel but it is the land that Palestine is currently claming and occupying which includes the Gaza Strip.  So they are only trying to take back the land that was actually theirs to begin with.

God first promised this land to Abram, whose name was later changed to Abraham.

Gen 12:5  And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.

Gen 12:7  And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.

Gen 17:8  And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.God even promised this same land to Isaac;

Gen 26:2  And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:

Gen 26:3  Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father.And also to Jacob which at this time God changes his name to Israel;

Gen 35:10  And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.

Gen 35:11  And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;

Gen 35:12  And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.The land was also given to Joseph;

Gen 48:21  And Israel said unto Joseph, Behold, I die: but God shall be with you, and bring you again unto the land of your fathers.God remembered his covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob when he instructed Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt;

Exo 6:8  And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am the LORD.God even told Joshua after the death of Moses to go over Jordan and possess the land which he shall give him;

Jos 1:1  Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,

Jos 1:2  Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

Jos 1:3  Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

Jos 1:4  From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast. 

Now these were different times in which God told all these men to possess the same land, even after they were driven out by opposing armies, famines and drought. They never gave up an inch of this land because it was promised to them in covenant.

Now the surrounding governments want Israel to divide the land that God had given them including half of Jerusalem. God also wants Israel to be conscious of how to treat others that are in their land. We all see the battle that is going on in the Gaza Strip. The oppression that is happening there is real.  Israel has forgotten what it is like to be in bondage but they also do not have to suffer the constant harassment from militants that live there.  

Exo 22:21  Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
