The Message Bible tells us in Hebrews that Jesus is the centerpiece of all we believe; as Christians this is why we must keep our focus on Him, He must be our priority at all times.

We have a tendency to forget the purpose of His suffering, why He came, and why He sent the Holy Spirit to make sure we make it to heaven.

Hebrews 3 Message Bible;...Now, if we can only keep a firm grip on this bold confidence, we're the house! That's why the Holy Spirit says, Today please listen: don't turn a deaf ear as in the "bitter uprising," that time of the wilderness testing! Even though they watched me at work for forth years, your ancestors refused to let me do it my way; over and over they tried my patience. And I was provoked, oh so provoked! I said, "They'll never keep their minds on God" they refuse to walk down my road." Exasperated, I vowed, "They'll never get were they're going, never be able to sit down and rest." Oh how easy we forget, the children of God complained every day, nothing suited them, they murmured and complained against God, they even thought they had a better plan. Yet they were His children, just like we are His children, He loved them as He loves us. This is the scary part: they did not make it to the promise land! They were so busy murmuring and complaining, living in the moment, wanting their flesh pampered, that they missed God altogether. Please take heed children of God, look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Hebrews 3 MB goes on to say: So watch your step, friends. Make sure there's no evil unbelief lying around that will trip you up and throw you off course, diverting you from the living God. For as long as it's still God's Today, keep each other on your toes so sin doesn't slow down your reflexes. If we can only keep our grip on the sure thing we started out with, we're in this with Christ for the long haul. These words keep ringing in our ears: Today, please listen; don't turn a deaf ear as in the bitter uprising. For who were the people who turned a deaf ear? Weren't they the very ones Moses led out of Egypt? And who was God provoked with for forty years? Wasn't it those who turned a deaf ear and ended up corpses in the wilderness? And when he swore that they'd never get where they were going, wasn't he talking to the ones who turned a deaf ear? They never got there because they never listened, never believed.

We must continue in the walk of faith, believing the word of God, praying, and serving our Master and Savior Jesus Christ, every day. Jesus said in Mark 13:13......but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. So let us run the race with patients, lets keep the faith, and endure hardness as a good soldier, for the sake of Jesus, for the Prize of the high calling of God. In these last days God has given us so many warning signs, because He wants to get us to heaven, that was His reason for the Cross. It will be worth it after all. Rejoice and be glad in this day, learn to take one day at a time, and keep being a doer of His word, not just a hearer.

There is no greater love then the love of Jesus Christ, and because of that love, we will make it to heaven, because we love Him and obey His word.
