A disaster relief team of the Kentucky Baptist Convention will provide humanitarian assistance for refugees displaced by the recent conflicts between the country Georgia and Russia.Coy Webb, disaster relief associate for the KBC said a team of six Kentucky Baptist volunteers are, scheduled to serve in Gori, September 4-16th. |

The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA) voted Friday to pave the way toward the ordination of practicing homosexual persons to the offices of deacon, elder, or minister. The series of votes begin to reverse the denomination's position on sexual practices that it has held for its entire existence. |

Today Judge Randy Bellows of the Fairfax County Circuit Court issued a second ruling in favor of the Virginia churches that have departed the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia by recognizing the constitutionality of the Virginia Statute on Religious Division, Va. Code 57-9(A). Bellows had already ruled in April that a religious division had occurred, and that the statute is applicable to this case. The Episcopal Church and the diocese are expected to challenge the court's decision. |

Association for Church Renewal President David Runnion-Bareford, today called on the Presbyterian Church USA, meeting in General Assembly in San Jose, California, to reject overtures to their meeting which contain anti-Semitic theological presuppositions, biases, and prejudices and to reject a June statement by the Presbyterian USA Commission on Interfaith Relations that has caused great pain and hurt to our Jewish brothers and sisters. |
